If you've got some its probably the seat though I've got to say that such failures are uncommon to rare AFAIK. If you've got none, switch is the suspect.
The heated seats on the 7 series are TRULY HEATED seats, on the F30, they're more like seat "warmers". So, if you do go aftermarket, be aware not all are equal. It was really nice having the super-hot seats on the 7 against my back, but I can see where some folks would. have found it too hot.
There are several reasons to answer this quick question. The electronic seat heating control system monitors the temperature sensor and heating mats for faults. Detected faults are stored in the fault code memory of the centre console switch centre. thanks for the reply, i'm afraid I just don't have heated seats, both seats have the large seat module, but i'm missing 2 connections on both: the circled connections are the ones for seat heating allthough, the seller claimed the seats were heated, it was a breaker who said he even has the "control panel" with the two heating buttons coming

In the attached INPA screen, 0% of the air is being directed through the heater core on either side; Mixed Air Flap, Right & Mixed Air Flap, Left: BOTH = 0%. That is full cooling mode. YOU want to see (at 28C Thermostat setting on each side) 100% for BOTH those flaps, meaning ALL air is going through Heater Core.
The heated seats are controlled by the bus system so there’s no wires from the switch to the seats. The switches go to a module that activates the seat heater.
